Donald Trump: Elon Musk Doing ‘Amazing Job’
Donald Trump, the president-elect, told the Turning Point USA Conference in Phoenix, Arizona on Sunday, that Elon Musk, the entrepreneur, is not taking the presidency as Democrats had claimed.
Democrats referred as “President Musk”, after SpaceX, Tesla and X (formerly Twitter), titans of the SpaceX, Tesla and X industries, helped stop a massive budget bill in Congress by publicly opposing it last week.
Democrats have attempted to create a rift in the relationship between Trump and Musk.
Trump added that Elon Musk would be heading the “Department of Government Efficiency” after describing it.

He’s not running for president. I enjoy having intelligent people. You know they’re on an exciting new phase. All the hoaxes about Russia, Russia and Russia. The latest one is that “President Trump ceded his presidency to Elon Mott.” No, no. This is not going to happen. Elon has done an incredible job. It’s nice to know that we have people who are smart. We all want to be smart. He has done an excellent job.
Trump continued to praise SpaceX for its achievement of catching a booster rocket with two “chopsticks”, a phrase that was often repeated on the campaign trail.
Later, Trump acknowledged Musk’s role in helping him win Pennsylvania. He also said that Musk provided free Starlink satellite internet connections to North Carolina Hurricane Helene victims.
He added, “It saved a lot lives so we would like to thank him.”
Trump said that Musk’s alleged presidential ambitions were “safe”, saying “He cannot be [president]. He was not born in the United States. Ha-ha.”
Trump concluded, “He is a wonderful guy. We want him.”
