Marist polls: Harris leads Trump in Michigan, Wisconsin; they’re tied in Pennsylvania

According to the latest Marist battleground polls, Vice President Harris leads former President Trump in Michigan by 5 points and in Wisconsin by a small margin, while both candidates are tied in Pennsylvania.

In Michigan, 52 percent of likely electors polled supported Harris while 47 percent supported Trump. In Wisconsin, 50 per cent of likely electors polled supported Harris compared with 49 percent who supported Trump.

The survey found that Harris and Trump both received 49 percent support from likely Pennsylvania voters.

In Michigan, Harris lost ground to Trump among independents. 49 percent of them supported her, while 47 percent supported Trump. Trump had a 50 percent lead over Harris among white voters compared with 48 percent for Harris. Harris also led among Black voters with 77 % compared with 21 percent for Trump.

The electorate in Michigan was divided between male and female voters: Trump won 52 percent of the vote to Harris’ 47 percent among men, and Harris won 56 percent to Trump’s 41 percent among women.

In Wisconsin, Harris led Trump by a larger margin among independents, with 51 percent to Trump’s 47 percent.

Harris received 50% support from white voters while Trump received 49%. Harris also led the non-white voters with 56 percent to Trump’s 44 percent.

In Wisconsin, Harris was ahead of Trump among both women and men. She led Trump by 56 percent to 42 percent among women, and Trump had a 53 percent to 44 percent lead over Harris among men.

Trump led Harris by 49 percent to 46 percent among independents.

Harris also led the non-white voters 59 percent to 38%, whereas Harris edged out her 51 percent to 48% among white voters.

In Pennsylvania, Trump won the male vote 54 to 44 for Harris while Harris won the female vote 55 to 43 for Harris.

In another recent poll, which looked at the same three states, the vice president was ahead of the former president. In a Quinnipiac University survey released on Wednesday, Harris led Trump by six points in Pennsylvania, five points in Michigan and one point in Wisconsin.

The Hill/Decision Desk polling aggregate shows that the race is much closer in all three swing-states. Harris is up 1.4 points in Michigan. Harris is up 2.6 points in Wisconsin. Harris is up 1 point in Pennsylvania.

Marist conducted surveys from 12-17 September. The Michigan survey consisted of 1,354 adults with a margin error of plus or less 3.1 percentage points. The Wisconsin survey includes 1,431 adult participants and a margin error of +/- 3.3 percentage points. The Pennsylvania survey includes 1,754 adult participants and a margin for error of plus or minus 2.9 percentage points.
