Trump Pledges to End Taxes on Overtime: ‘Hardest-Working Citizens in Our Country’

The former president Donald Trump promised to eliminate taxes on overtime. He called these workers the “hardest working citizens in our nation.”

“I am also announcing, as part of our tax cuts additional, that we will eliminate all taxes on overtime,” Trump announced during a rally. The applause of those present was a response. “That gives people a greater incentive to work.” It’s easier to recruit people.

Trump praised overtime employees for their hardwork while lamenting Washington has “not been looking out for them.”

I went to see some economists. They were great. He said: “I asked, ‘what do think?’ and they said, It would be incredible, you’ll have a new workforce.'” No taxes on overtime,” said he. “Those who work overtime are some of the hardest-working citizens in our nation, but Washington has not been watching out for them for far too long. These are the people. They are real workers. They are police officers. They are nurses, factory workers and construction workers. We’re giving the working woman and man a break, because it’s a great idea and I believe that this will be good for the country. “So that’s why, if you are an overtime worker and you go over 40 hours per week, you will not be charged tax on your overtime hours.”
