Trump signs executive order ending use of taxpayer money to ‘incentivize or support’ illegal immigration

According to a White House fact sheet, the executive order was issued to ensure that taxes were used to protect the interests of American Citizens and not illegal aliens.

Late Wednesday night, President Donald Trump issued an executive order that ended the use of federal funds to support illegal immigration.

The Trump administration stated that the purpose of the executive order was to “ensure taxpayer resources are used to safeguard the interests of American Citizens, not illegal immigrants.”

The order requires federal departments and agencies to identify all federally-funded programs that provide financial benefits for illegal aliens and terminate them. The order also aims at ensuring that federal funds aren’t used to support policies of “sanctuary”.

The order says that “My Administration will defend against the misuse of taxpayer resources and protect benefits for American Citizens in Need, including veterans and individuals with disabilities.”

A White House factsheet on the executive orders stated that “President Trump has committed himself to protecting Federal public benefits, for American citizens in true need. This includes veterans and people with disabilities.”

According to the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, the surge in illegal immigration in the last four years came at a price. It cost American taxpayers $451 billion in care costs for illegal aliens who entered the U.S. illegally and those who escaped.

The executive order cited calculations by the Federation for American Immigration Reform that stated American taxpayers had spent at least $182 Billion annually to cover costs for 20 million illegal immigrants and their children. This number includes $66.5 Billion in federal expenditures, but an additional $115.6 Billion has come from State and Local expenses.

According to the Personal Responsibility Work Opportunity Reconciliation act of 1996, those illegally in the U.S. are not allowed to access welfare programs.

Illegal aliens who are granted parole will be classified as “qualified foreigners” for welfare programs. This allows them to receive various benefits, with full eligibility granted in five years.

The Trump administration has also called former President Joe Biden’s administration out for “enabling” illegal immigration, and allocating funds to support crime.

According to the executive order, federal and state taxpayers spent more than $16.2billion to fund emergency Medicaid services for illegal aliens under Biden’s open border agenda – according to an estimate by the Congressional Budget Office.

The fact sheet stated that “the Biden Administration gave millions of taxpayer dollars to left-wing organizations who facilitated mass migration illegally and provided legal services for challenging deportation orders.”

The FEMA allocated $1 billion in funding to illegal aliens between 2021 and now.

Trump’s promise to put America first and secure our borders during his presidential election campaign has been fulfilled.

The fact sheet said that “President Trump delivered on his promises to secure the border, prioritize the needs and wants of American citizens by taking immediate action in order to end the border crisis caused by the previous Administration,” before listing the other immigration-related actions taken since Trump took office on January 20.
