Fmr. NYC Police Commissioner Kelly: ‘Alvin Bragg Is a Major Contributor’ to NYC Crime
In a broadcast on Tuesday of Fox Business Network’s “Mornings With Maria,” former New York City police commissioner Ray Kelly praised a House field hearing about crime in New York, and said that “Alvin Bragg” is largely responsible for the increase in crime.
Kelly said: “I liked hearing.” I liked that victims of crimes could speak directly to politicians. They try to avoid it as much as possible. “But yes, Chairman Jordan’s (R-OH), right on the mark as far as treating police officers with such disrespect across the country.
He continued, “[Y]ou can see the decline in the quality of living as you walk the streets of New York.” That’s why so many people are leaving. You can see it. “You can see it clearly as day.”
Maria Bartiromo, the host, then asked: “What do you attribute this to, the rise in crime and resignation increase?”
Kelly replied, “Well, it’s the administration. Certainly, Bill de Blasio. He was the one who set the tone. Mayor Adams, in my opinion hasn’t done what would reduce crime significantly, bring back anti-crime unit, stop, question and frisk more actively. I believe he is trying to regain the subways. That’s another challenge. “I think that it has a lot to do with Alvin Bragg, who is certainly a major contributor, since the other district attorneys of New York City are following the Manhattan district prosecutor.”
