Missouri mayor bans kids from attending ‘A Drag Queen Christmas’

As states move to limit cross-dressing public displays, a concert venue in St. Louis’ suburbs has banned children from attending an all-ages Christmas drag show.

The Factory in Chesterfield stated hours before “A Drag Queen Christmas”, that tickets for under-18s would not be permitted to attend. With performers from “RuPaul’s Drag Race”, the production will tour 18 states.

“We have ordinances in Chesterfield. Chesterfield Mayor Bob Nation stated Wednesday that he was committed to protecting minors and refusing to allow minors to enjoy certain entertainments of a sexual orientation.

This cancellation follows a growing backlash against drag shows that are “family friendly”, which critics claim sexualize young children.
