Pritzker calls for release of $2B in federal funding halted by President Donald Trump administration

Gov. JB Pritzker, Democratic members of Illinois Congressional Delegation and other Illinois politicians are demanding answers on Wednesday from the federal government.
The story revolves around nearly $2 billion of federal payments that were temporarily stopped by the Trump administration.
Pritzker is a fierce critic of Trump and is challenging the administration on the budget passed by the House Republicans. He is also questioning the federal funds that were supposed to come to Illinois but are now stuck in limbo.
Pritzker announced an increase to his program for canceling medical debts Wednesday morning. He also blasted Trump’s administration regarding federal funds that were temporarily stopped last month in Illinois.

We are always looking for a way to get our money back. Can we take the case to court? If not, can we do anything else to get this funding source back on? Pritzker asked.
Pritzker is asked if the money has been withheld because of his criticisms of the President.
“I’m not sure, but I think both of them are incompetent.” This is one of the problems. Pritzker stated that they have literally fired competent people in order to hire people who are only loyal to Donald Trump.
Pritzker requested in his letter that a report on the missing funds be submitted by March 4, 2019. Pritzker says Illinois taxpayers are owed money.
