Brian Jack Wins Georgia’s 3rd Congressional District Runoff Election
The former White House political adviser Brian Jack has won the Republican runoff election on Tuesday night and will advance to the general elections in November.
According to the New York Times, Jack, who also worked for the former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, (R-CA), got 16,915 votes or 66 percent while Mike Dugan received 8,727 or 34 percent. The Associated Press declared the race.
Fox News reported that Dugan, the former majority leader of the Georgia State Senate and the former President of the Georgia Senate, referred to Jack as a “D.C. insider.”
Dugan, according to reports, referred to “out-of state financial support” that Jack received. Jack responded by criticizing Dugan’s previous support of a 2015 transportation bill which raised the gas taxes to fund improvements in infrastructure and maintenance.
On the Democrat’s side, Maura KELLER, a retired lieutenant colonel, received 13,237 votes or 53 percent while her opponent Val Almonord received 11,730 or 47 percent.
Jack Keller and Keller will be facing off in November.
