‘Tan mom’ Patricia Krentcil plans to run for US Senate in Florida

“Tan Mom”, or so she thinks, goes to Washington.

TMZ reported that Patricia Krentcil plans to run for Senate in Florida after she went viral for taking her daughter, aged 5, into a tanning salon in New Jersey in 2012.

According to a statement filed Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission, the former Nutley resident who now lives Boca Raton has filed paperwork in order to challenge the incumbent GOP senator Rick Scott for the 2024 Senate elections.

She filed as a Republican.

“I am aware that I am unique. “I know that I am different. And I have suffered because of it.” “But the fact that we are all different makes this country unique and amazing,” she said to TMZ.

Krentcil is running for the Senate at the same time as she stars in “Tan to 10,” a TV documentary that follows her efforts to stop tanning and to change her lifestyle. She appointed her producers Gregg Maliff, and Adam Barta to be her campaign managers.

The infamous tanner said to the outlet that during her “extreme makeover”, she formed a bond between herself and Florida’s LGBTQ+ community, which is currently under attack. She wants to use these connections to bring about change in Washington.

Krentcil was charged in 2012 with child endangerment for allegedly exposing Anna to UV artificial rays at a Nutley hair salon.

In 2013, a grand jury declined to indict the woman and she kept custody of her child.

The single mother told Insider that the incident had plagued her for “everyday” over the last 10 years. She was in financial ruin and barred from tanning salons.

Krentcil, in addition to her reality show, has appeared on “The Howard Stern Show”, and released several music videos.

“I’ve changed my entire attitude towards life.” Krentcil stated, “I’ve changed my life.” “I no longer get disrespected.” “I don’t go out or do anything crazy.”

She was admitted to a Palm Beach, Florida rehab for alcoholism in 2013.

Krentcil, a woman from the United States, was hospitalized in 2019 for pneumonia. She was then placed into a medically-induced coma. She suffered a cardiac arrest, was diagnosed with pancreatitis, and had an infection spread to her lungs.

The heavy smoker said to The Post that “my entire body died — I was declared dead.” It was sad.”
