CBS host slammed for claiming free speech was ‘weaponized’ in Germany to carry out Holocaust during argument with Marco Rubio

CBS journalist Margaret Brennan received a rebuke Sunday after she claimed, during an exchange with Secretary of State Marco Rubio, that Germany “weaponized free speech” to commit the Holocaust.

They argued over Vice President JDVance’s fiery remarks at the Munich Security Conference. In it, he attacked European leaders for their censorship, and claimed that “the threat within” was the greatest danger facing the security of Western nations, rather than Russia or China.

Rubio was quick in defending the veep when Brennan questioned her about the remarks that irked US ally and Vance’s reported meetings with a far right German leader before the election for the country’s next chancellor.

Why would our allies, or anyone else be offended by someone expressing their opinion and free speech? Rubio told CBS’s “Face the Nation” that we are democracies.

“I think that anger is what makes his point,” he said.

Brennan, 44 years old, responded with a historically questionable response.

She said, “Well, it was in a place where the use of free speech to commit genocide was weaponized, and he had met with a leader of a party with far-right views, and historical ties to extremist groups.” The context was what changed the tone. You know this.

Rubio, 53 years old, jumped in quickly and vehemently objected.

“No, you are wrong. I must disagree.” “Free speech was not used as a tool to commit genocide”, said the former US Senator.

The genocide took place under an authoritarian Nazi government that was also genocidal, because it hated Jews, minorities, and those they — had a list they hated but they primarily hated the Jews.

“There was no freedom of speech in Nazi Germany.” Rubio said.

Vance, 40 years old, commented on the exchange Sunday evening.

He tweeted: “This is an insane exchange.” Does the media think that free speech caused the Holocaust?

Steven Cheung, the White House director of communication, also snubbed Brennan.

Margaret Brennan, CBS News’s anchorwoman, is having a bizarre episode in which she makes disgusting reasons for Nazis and Holocaust.
