DNC’s unrevised platform allows Kamala Harris to ‘stay vague,’ hide policy from American people: CNN
“We should also note that Vice President Harris can stay vague and unspecific. That’s the Biden Platform. It’s not from us. ‘”
On CNN, hosts discussed that Kamala Harris could “stay vague” regarding the specifics about her policy agenda as she enters the Democratic National Convention.
Jake Tapper made the comment that mentioning Biden would make Harris’ policies “vague” or “unspecific”, and allow the campaign to blame Biden.
Tapper, during CNN’s coverage on the first day DNC, said that “President Biden had dropped out a month ago and a half.” If you were to read the Democratic Platform, it would be difficult to know this because it refers repeatedly to President Biden’s second term. The platform mentions Biden’s second tenure around 19 times.

David Chalian, CNN’s David Chalian, responded by telling the other panelists that they believed they would be opening up a can of Worms if they reopened the platform in order to include not fully developed Kamala Harris policy, as they were rapidly changing. They were afraid that there would be a fight over what should go in the platform, and that they didn’t want to risk that.
Tapper revealed: “We should also note that this allows Vice President Harris, to remain vague, stay unspecific. That’s the Biden Platform. It’s not from us. ‘”
Some Democrats are not happy about Harris’s rise to the presidency without ever winning a primary. Maureen Dowd, a reporter for the New York Times, referred to Harris’s replacement of Biden by the party as a “coup”. Harris’ policies have not been questioned by the media.
Some Democratic legislators are happy for Harris to wait until after the elections to reveal her specific policy positions.
