Michael Whatley, chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC), says that he expects Trump will be at the convention this week in Milwaukee.

After the attempted assassination of former President Trump, Republican National Committee chairman Michael Whatley stated that “politics are secondary”.

Whatley, appearing on “Fox News Sunday,” said that he expects Trump to be at the convention, which begins Monday in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Bill Barr, Trump’s former Attorney General, said on Fox News Saturday night that Democrats need to stop their “grossly reckless talk” about Trump as “an existential danger to democracy.”

Whatley, on the security of the convention that took more than 18 months planning, said, “the arena is set, the security has arrived, and we are very confident working with the Secret Service.”

He stated that the RNC works with 40 different law-enforcement agencies to ensure the security of the convention.

This will be an area where we can have 50,000 delegates, alternates, guests and media members who are safe. “That’s critical to us,” he said. “Look, I think our business is critical to the process.
