What the Biden administration is calling for is illegal and wrong.

Seven states, along with a group of pediatricians, are suing Biden’s administration for encouraging doctors “to affirm” children’s gender identity and pushing them towards medical interventions.

Missouri, Utah and North Dakota and South Dakota along with Iowa, Idaho and Arkansas, and the American College of Pediatricians, filed a suit against the Department of Health and Human Services on Wednesday.

The lawsuit takes issue with the controversial rule that the agency adopted in early April, which would have forced doctors and other healthcare workers to adhere to the “affirming model” and provide transgender-specific medical interventions. The rule defined “sexism” in health care as including “gender identity” or “sexual orientation,” which prompted backlash from critics.

Plaintiffs claim that the rule establishes an “unproven”, new standard of medical care by using the “affirming model”. It also violates the Affordable Care Act, as it requires doctors to go against their good medical judgment.

The rule also requires doctors to promote and provide’social transformations’, use of pronouns that are inconsistent with biological sex and experimentation of cross-sex hormones and puberty blockers for ‘gender transition’ purposes and to perform harmful sterilizing procedures on children and adults to make them appear the opposite gender, even when state laws restrict these procedures. The American College Of Pediatricians stated in a release that doctors are required to incorrectly code patient charts based on biological sex rather than gender identity.

The lawsuit asks that a Missouri federal judge permanently block the HHS regulation.

Court documents in the lawsuit noted that three federal courts from Tennessee, Florida and Texas stopped the rule’s implementation since April.

Dr. Jill Simons is the executive director of American College Of Pediatricians. She emphasized that doctors “should never be forced” into violating their sound medical judgement and performing “life-altering, sterilizing interventions.”

“Our doctors swear to do no harm. But the Biden Administration’s rule forces our doctors to break this oath, and perform procedures which are harmful and dangerous for our patients – vulnerable children. Simons stated that the Biden administration’s request is illegal and wrong.

Recently, in the U.S. as well as Europe, drugs and surgery have been approved to help children who appear to be the opposite gender.

But several European and U.S. countries have put a stop to these treatments.

At least 25 state laws have been passed to ban or restrict transgender medical intervention for minors. In Florida, Ohio and Montana, the restrictions are upheld in court.
