Trump to Carlson: They’ll Try to Steal Election Again
In an exclusive interview with Tucker Carlson on Wednesday, the former president Donald Trump said that Democrats would try to steal another presidential election.
Trump spoke candidly about the controversy surrounding the election of 2020 and warned that it might happen again.
You’re saying that they stole from you the last time. Carlson asked, “Why wouldn’t they steal it again?”
“Oh, well, they’ll try. They will try. “And not just me,” Trump said.
Trump pointed out that Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state, and Stacey Abrams – a perennial Democrat in Georgia – have both challenged elections, but they were not held to the same standard.
The same people who say, He is challenging an election!” Trump stated that the “opposing party” had “challenged my election”, adding that they were “basically suing me and saying you don’t have a right to challenge it”.
In an earlier interview, Trump spoke about his strained relationship with Mike Pence, his former vice president who is running against him for the primary in 2024.
“I think he received very bad advice,” Trump said. He insisted that his method of contesting results was legal, and that Congress passed a reform last year of the electoral colleges.
Trump emphasized that he did not agree with Pence being a “human conveyor belt”.
The moment is at the heart of Fulton County District attorney Fani Willis’ office case against Trump, and other officials in Georgia’s administration. She alleges that Trump conspired with them to illegally overturn 2020 elections.
Trump, however, maintained his innocence.
Trump said that the recent indictments were easier to obtain because he was so popular in the polls. This included two federal indictments by the Department of Justice. “The people know it’s a scam.”
Trump chose to watch the interview with social media site X instead of the Republican National Committee’s first presidential debate, held at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee Wednesday. The video has currently been viewed by over 75,000,000 people.
