Elon Musk livestreams border to give people firsthand account of migrant crisis

Elon Musk, the tech billionaire, visited the southern border at Eagle Pass, Texas on Thursday. He planned to livestream the tour to give the public a better understanding of the current migrant crisis.

Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and X has expressed a great deal of interest in the current border crisis and has posted about it on his social media platform X. X was formerly Twitter.

He announced on Tuesday that he spoke with U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzales (R-Texas) about the crisis. Gonzales confirmed that it was “a serious issue.”

Musk, wearing a black cowboy cap, appeared live on his platform, Thursday. He said he would go around to speak to officials and “eyeball” the situation in order to find out the truth.

He said, “This is live and unfiltered.” “What you see, is what I also see.”

Musk said that as a former immigrant, he was “extremely pro-immigrant.” He explained, however, that immigration should be expanded to allow hardworking, honest people to come to the U.S. legally, while not allowing immigrants who will break the law.

He expressed concern that the influx of illegal immigrants could cause the social services to collapse, much like New York City buckled under the weight of the migrants bussed in from Texas.

Gonzalez was also present, and he said that he was grateful to Musk for visiting the border in order to capture an unfiltered image of the border.

Gonzalez then returned to the feed and explained the situation at the border in more detail.

Musk’s comments on his live stream were rife. One user commented, “Good to have Elon doing the work of the MSM, and the politicians, who are literally being paid to do this, but refuse to.”

Many users were happy that Musk livestreamed from the border city.

Some users praised livestreams, but others quickly corrected them by saying “when they work.”

Others praised Musk or made fun of him for his cowboy hat, shades, and sunglasses.

The feed returned to the screen for 13 more minutes before it ended.
