Jasmine Crockett Confesses: ‘I Don’t Care About Legislation, Just Want to Take Down Trump’

Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s Priorities: Targeting Trump Over Legislation
In a revealing statement, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has openly declared her disinterest in legislative work, choosing instead to focus her efforts on opposing President Donald Trump. This stance underscores a concerning trend among certain Democrats who seem to place partisan conflicts above the actual needs of the American populace.
Disregarding Legislative Duties
During a recent interview, Crockett, a member of the progressive “squad,” admitted that while she could pretend to concentrate on legislation, she views such efforts as pointless under the Trump administration. She expressed her belief that President Trump would not support her legislative initiatives, leading her to prioritize what she describes as the protection of basic rights and a return to previous norms disrupted by Trump’s policies.
Crockett candidly stated, “So right now, I can tell you that, unfortunately, I am not working towards very much that I would consider being the progress train. I am working to make sure that I can minimize the regress train right now. And I think— and I hope — that my district appreciates that I am being honest with them.”
Democratic Strategy: Obstructing Trump
Crockett is not alone in her approach. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has also voiced a similar strategy, focusing on damaging President Trump’s approval ratings to impede his ability to implement his agenda. Schumer outlined the Democratic tactic of relentless opposition rather than constructive legislation, aiming to diminish Trump’s influence.

Schumer explained, “We are fighting on all of the fronts to go after Trump, not have a circular firing squad, which Democrats tend to do, particularly when there’s such an enemy as Trump so that the basic premise that we are going after him on — and [House Minority Leader] Hakeem [Jeffries] and I are working on this very closely together … is that Trump is taking things away from the middle class, from you, to pay for tax cuts for the rich.”
This strategy, according to Schumer, involves reducing Trump’s popularity to limit his presidential authority, thereby weakening his policy influence.
These admissions from leading Democrats reveal a stark prioritization of political rivalry over substantive governance, raising concerns about their commitment to addressing the real issues facing Americans.
