Kohl’s Baby Pride Merch Sparks Shopper Outrage

Fox News reported that Kohl’s is the latest retailer to get into trouble. Some shoppers are outraged at the fact that the department store chain sells LGBTQ merchandise to minors and infants.

Kohl’s has joined Target, Anheuser-Busch, and The North Face as retailers who are currently facing public backlash and boycott calls. Kohl’s has released its latest Pride Month merchandise including “Baby Sonoma Community Pride Bodysuit Set” for 3 month, 6 months, and 9 month old kids.

The onesie or bodysuit features an illustration that appears to show a lesbian pair with a dog, three children including a boy in a wheel chair. The illustration shows an adult carrying a progressive flag.

Kohl’s Pride also sells shirts with the slogans “Be Proud”, “Ask me My Pronouns” and “Be Proud”.

According to Fox, the Twitter account End Wokeness highlighted Kohl’s products on Sunday. It featured several images with a caption saying, “Looks Like Kohls didn’t Learn a Thing from Bud Lite or Target.”

Turning Point USA, a group that advocates for the rights of transgender people, has also condemned Kohl’s over its clothing line. Benny Johnson (chief creative officer at TPUSA), tweeted on Sunday: “Why is Kohls selling ‘Pride Merch,’ to 3 month-old babies? “. Morgonn McMichael, a Gen Z influencer and TPUSA contributor, posted a video condemning the chain’s disgusting merchandise. She called it “blatant virtue

Taylor Silverman, a skateboarder, responded on Twitter last week by asking, “Pride for babies @Kohls.” Why does Kohls support transgender and gay people who demand validation from babies. Why are they trying to link babies with sexuality?

One Twitter user wrote: “Another Company Needing Bud-lighting!”

Over the last year, the company has experienced major problems. Kohl’s stock fell almost 21% in July 2022 after the company announced that it had failed to complete a deal with Franchise Group and that sales would be declining due to a decrease in consumer spending.

Target removed some of its Pride Month merchandise last week after its promotion led to threats against the safety of Target’s employees. The retailer also revealed that its market capitalization had dropped by $10.15 billion due to public outrage over its LGBTQ kids clothing line, as well one-piece bathing suits with “tuck friendly construction” and extra crotch cover.

Last week, The North Face Trail faced a similar backlash from shoppers — and VF Corp. shares dropped more than 3% — just 24 hours after launching a social media campaign featuring drag queen Pattie Gaonia with shaved-headed mustache.

Gonia began the video promotion of rainbow North Face gear by calling himself “a real-life gay” and inviting customers to “come out… in nature with Us!”

Anheuser-Busch InBev announced on May 21 to wholesalers that it would buy back any cases of beer that were not sold. This follows a month in which HSBC analysts downgraded its stock and Bud Light sales dropped by 28%.
