Marco Rubio spars with NBC host over 2024 election: Democrats have ‘opposed every Republican victory’
The Florida Senator told NBC’s host: “You’re talking to the wrong person.”
Sen. Marco Rubio (R.-Fla.), sparred with NBC’s Kristen Welker about whether he was willing to accept the election results in 2024 “nothing happens.”
No matter what happens, ” No! “I think both sides will be contesting the election if it is unfair,” Rubio said.
Welker tried to get a response from Rubio by asking him different versions of the question. Rubio responded, “You are asking the wrong person.” Since 2000, the Democrats have been against every Republican victory. “Every single one.”
Welker then played a clip showing Rubio certifying 2020’s election, before asking the senator if the public could trust the results of this year’s elections. Rubio stated in the clip from 2021 that “democracy is kept together by people who have confidence in elections and are willing to accept their results.”
The NBC host then asked: “By your definition, do Donald Trump’s statements undermine Americans’ faith in democracy?”
Rubio stated that “NBC News and all major news outlets in the United States in 2020 censored the Biden Laptop story which was true…You could not even discuss it on social media because they would deplatform your account.”
Rubio’s comments echoed the sentiments of South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, who was interviewed by ‘Meet the Press” earlier in the month.
If everything is honest, I would be happy to accept the results. Scott said on NBC that if it’s not honest, you must fight for the rights of the country. Donald Trump will be the 47th president of the United States.
Rubio, who is a possible vice-presidential candidate for former President Trump was also asked how much he supported the former president’s plan to use the military in order to deport illegal immigrants.
“We cannot accept 25, 30 millions people who have entered this country without permission.” He told Welker, “They’re here illegally. What country could tolerate this?” “We will have to do something drastic to remove illegal immigrants from this country, especially those we don’t know.”
Rubio said: “This isn’t immigration, it is mass migration. This is an invasion of our country.”
