RFK Jr. expected to drop out of race by end of week, plans to endorse Trump: Sources

According to ABC News, sources claim that Kennedy intends to endorse the former President.

ABC News reports that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. plans to withdraw from the presidential race before the end of this coming week.

ABC News has received reports that Kennedy intends to endorse Donald Trump. However, when asked by ABC News directly if he would be endorsing former President, Kennedy replied, “I won’t confirm or deny this.”

He said, “We’re not going to talk about anything like that.”

One source said that Kennedy hopes to have the decision finalized quickly to counter the momentum of the Democratic National Convention.

Sources close to Trump have said that Kennedy could change his mind and appear with Trump on stage at a Phoenix event on Friday. However, they cautioned Kennedy’s thoughts may always change.

Amaryllis fox, Kennedy’s campaign manager emailed her senior staff Wednesday morning to thank them for their hardwork, but also indicated that a decision had not yet been made on how the campaign would proceed, an ABC News source said.

According to the source, Fox wrote: “There are two or three possible paths forward. I have seen the attention and care Bobby has given to each.”

Kennedy’s spokesperson posted on X on Friday that Kennedy would “address” the nation live to discuss his “path ahead,” but did not provide any specifics.

A spokesperson from the Trump campaign didn’t immediately respond to an inquiry for comment.

Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy’s running-mate who said in a podcast published on Tuesday that Kennedy was considering “joining forces” with Trump, told ABC News that it is “Bobby’s decision” to make and that she has his “full” support.

She said that the only thing she could do was gauge Donald Trump’s sincerity.

Kennedy said to ABC News about the Democratic Convention and Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harri, “I believe it was a crowning, not democracy. Nobody voted. Who selected Kamala as the candidate? “It wasn’t the voters.”

He also complained of the treatment his campaign received.

He said: “She went from being the Democratic Party’s worst liability to being the second coming Christ in just four weeks without giving a single interview, showing up for any debates, and without having a policy that anyone thought was not ridiculous.” “It’s just not democracy.”

Kennedy has been accusing Democrats of being undemocratic by denying his supporters the chance to vote for him. This is despite an avalanche lawsuits filed by Democratic groups to challenge his position on state ballots.

Shanahan said on Wednesday, “We are being prosecuted political right now.” This is not a normal democratic process.
