The Disney show “The Proud Family” openly argues that the United States “owes” black people something, because it has “still not atoned” for its institutionalized racism.

Critics of Disney’s “The Proud Family” reboot point out a recent episode where young characters rap about slavery, reparations, and claim that the United States “owes” black Americans because it has “still not atoned” for its systemic racism, systemic prejudice, and White supremacy.

Christ Rufo, a Manhattan Institute fellow, tweeted a clip from the episode and called it “pure criticism race theory”. Lyrically, the song suggested that President Abraham Lincoln didn’t actually end slavery.

The children shouted, “The descendants and slaves continue building it, slaves built it, and we, the descendants and slaves of America, have earned reparations and continue to receive reparations every second we are submerged in the systemic racism, white supremacy, and prejudice that America was founded with, and has yet to atone for.”
