After 44 days as Prime Minister, Liz Truss decided to resign. This makes her premiership one of the most short in UK history.

Truss, who was seen on the steps at Downing Street, admitted that she couldn’t deliver the vision she promised the country as party leader.

Truss stated that he was speaking outside Number 10 Downing Street. “I came into office during a time of great economic instability and international instability.” Businesses and families were concerned about how they would pay their bills.

“Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine poses a threat to the security of the whole continent. Our country has been held back by low economic growth for too long.”

She said, “I was elected by Conservative Party with a mandate change this. We delivered on energy bills and cut National Insurance. We also outlined a vision of a low-tax economy with high growth that would take full advantage of the Brexit freedoms.

“I recognize though that, given the circumstances, I am unable to deliver the mandate for which I was elected by Conservative Party. I have spoken to His Majesty to inform him that I am resigning my position as leader of Conservative Party.

Within the next week, a leadership election will take place.
