Whitmer, Dixon highlight differences in final Michigan governor debate
Whitmer stated that Line 5 has not changed. She said that “The tunnel continues moving forward” referring to an Enbridge plan to build a tunnel across the Straits and cover the pipeline with concrete to prevent any spillage. Former Gov. Whitmer and Attorney General Dana Nessel oppose Rick Snyder’s plan and the GOP Legislature. They favor an immediate shutdown.
Dixon countered, “The only reason it isn’t shut down is that other people have stopped her radical energie agenda.”
Whitmer stated that there are other arrangements to provide propane to Michigan residents. She also said that she supports clean energy alternatives. It’s possible to prevent energy price rises while protecting the Great Lakes from environmental disaster.
Whitmer and Dixon were radicalized during their first debate on Oct. 13, Grand Rapids. They debated roads, abortion, and other issues.
