Americans aren’t buying the official version of the Trump shooting, poll shows

Americans are skeptical about the official version of events surrounding the attempted assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump. A new poll shows that only a third believe that the gunman acted alone, and there wasn’t a larger conspiracy.

TIPP/Daily Mail survey found that 45% of respondents believe in a “larger conspiracies” while another 22 were unsure.

More than one quarter of the people think a second gunman was involved.

The FBI is the agency that is leading the official investigation of the shooting. They have vehemently rejected the theory about a second shooter and stated there was no evidence to support the idea.

Republicans are more skeptical than Democrats of the official line.

Democrats have a popular theory that Mr. Trump staged the shooting. He managed to get himself shot, he allowed two other rallygoers to be seriously injured, he found a young man willing to take the fall and was killed by countersnipers in the process.

One liberal theory is that Mr. Trump was not actually shot by a bullet, but cut himself in order to produce the bloody ear which has become a part of current iconography.

Conservatives are fueling conspiracy theories that the Republican nominee for president is not protected by allowing a shooter to reach a roof with a line of sight on him.

Another theory is that a second shooter was on a water-tall in addition to the twenty-year-old.

TIPP conducted the survey this month. The survey included 1,488 adult participants and had a margin error of plus or less 2.7 percent.
