Trump shooter’s former American politics classmate on conversations with would-be assassin Thomas Crooks
Former Pennsylvania classmate Thomas Matthew Crooks, who would like to assassinate Trump, was described by a former classmate as ‘quiet’ and ‘kind.’
Former classmate Thomas Matthew Crooks’s former classmate says that the 20-year old gunman was quite with a few friends, and she never would have guessed his actions during the Trump rally.
Sarah D’Angelo shared with Fox News Digital the few interactions she had with Crooks during their eight-year schooling together. The pair shared a Bethel Park High School homeroom class.
D’Angelo created a portrait that reflected Crooks’ interests, personality and perceptions at school.
“He had a small friend group,” D’Angelo said. “He was not a loner, but he wasn’t the most popular child in the class.”
People have been talking about the 20-year old’s political views. Some pointed to his Republican voter status, while others pointed to his $15 donation to a progressive political committee.
D’Angelo claimed that Crooks didn’t reveal his political affiliation to the class even though they shared a class on American politics in high school.
We had [an] American Politics class. She said that it was a half-year during her senior year. “He never expressed any of his views on politics.”
Crooks’ classmate revealed that they had shared a homeroom as well as some classes in high school, including Advanced Placement.
In homeroom he played on his computer quite a bit. She said that he was really into it. “He would only have a small group of friends with him for lunch.”
D’Angelo claimed that she didn’t remember Crooks being abused in high school. She added that she believed there were others in the school she considered “more capable.”
She said, “I would think that other people at the school would be more capable, but he is definitely not one,” It’s because he doesn’t speak to many people. You don’t know what is going on in his mind.
She described Crooks as a good student who graduated with honors. Bethel High School awarded honors students with either silver or gold cords to represent their academic achievement.
Crooks wears a silver cord in a picture of his graduation from high school. D’Angelo stated that the silver cord signified a cumulative GPA of 3.85 or more.
D’Angelo recalled the last time she interacted with Crooks, the assassin who sat next to her at the high school graduation.
D’Angelo recalled, “He was only a few chairs away from me (at the graduation ceremony).” “I remember him and another child, just commenting about the day and length of the graduation ceremony.
Crooks’ classmate described him as smart, and he participated regularly in class discussions.
She said, “He participated just as much as any normal person.” “He was kind to everyone around him.”
D’Angelo stated that she initially thought the 45th President’s relative was the person who had attempted to kill him.
She said, “It is shocking to hear that someone you know from high school would do such a tragic thing.” “I thought at first it was a family member, but I never heard Thomas. He was known as Tom or Tommy.”
They decided to cancel at the last moment. The classmate had said that they were going to attend Trump’s speech at the Butler Farm Show Fairgrounds, Butler.
D’Angelo stated, “It is sad and I felt nauseous when I heard about it on Sunday because you wouldn’t expect something like this to happen so soon.” “I’m not speaking for everyone, but I think we all want to move forward from this.”
D’Angelo echoed what his classmates and fellow residents had said, saying that their 33,000-person town does not wish for this incident to define them.
She said, “This is an intimate community with a family-oriented atmosphere.” “We are good American citizens and Bethel High School really close.”
She said, “This just didn’t seem to match up with what happened in Bethel Park.” “Our hearts go to the families who were affected by this.”
