Top NATO military chair warns business leaders to prepare for ‘wartime scenario’

The NATO military committee chair warned business leaders that they should prepare for “wartime scenarios” and bring back their production lines to the United States, instead of relying on China and Russia to avoid blackmail and sabotage, as Donald Trump, former and future US president, has promised to restore his agenda “America First”.

Dutch Adm. Rob Bauer stated that instability in global politics can leave business at the mercy foreign governments. This is especially true if a war breaks out.

Bauer stated that businesses need to prepare for wartime scenarios and adjust production and distribution lines in accordance. Because while the military may win battles, the economy is what wins wars.

The NATO military chairman said that Europe had already experienced this with the turbulent Gazprom deal. Russian President Vladimir Putin intervened to change the terms after the European Union backed Ukraine in 2022.

5 years later & AOC is still beating her antisemitic, anti-Israel drum. Unfortunately, her influence is only growing, and the media is happy to give her a bullhorn anytime she wants one. If you’ve had enough of AOC, then help us start the efforts to remove her from Congress early so we succeed! It’s time to Protect American Values!

Bauer stated, “We thought that we had made a deal to Gazprom but in fact we had done a deal to Mr. Putin.”

“The same is true for Chinese goods and infrastructure.” “We have a deal [with [Chinese president] Xi Jinping.

The NATO military chief stated that 90% of earth materials and 60% of all other earth products are produced in China.

Bauer stated that the bulk of ingredients used in critical health care products, such as sedatives and antibiotics for treating low blood pressure, or anti-inflammatories, also come from China.

He said that business leaders would be foolish to think that the Chinese Communist Party wouldn’t target foreign businesses in their country to disrupt economies of potential enemies.

The warning comes at a time when Trump has pledged to prioritise an “America First Agenda”, which could include setting tariffs of 60% on most imported goods from China to protect domestic industry.

Economists predict that the policy will begin early next year, with tariffs of 40% on imports. This would be a major blow for China.

The incoming President also claimed that his first phone call would come from the Oval Office to his Chinese counterpart, demanding he fulfill a $50 billion farm deal.

The agreement, which was made during Trump’s tariff negotiations, in his first term called for China to buy $50 billion of American agricultural products, and he claimed Xi had failed to fulfill it.

Experts believe that Trump’s plan will hinder China’s 2025 economic plan by one whole percentage point. It is unclear what Beijing’s response might be.

Bauer warned that a Russian victory in the Ukraine conflict would be a dangerous precedent, allowing Moscow and Beijing to do whatever they want against the West.

Trump, while on his campaign trail, suggested that a diplomatic solution to the conflict would allow Russia to keep the territory they have invaded. This would be a major win for Putin.

After launching an invasion in February 20, Moscow controls approximately one fifth of Ukraine, including Crimea, and the vast majority Donbas, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.
