NATO members agree €40 bln financial pledge for Ukraine – diplomat

NATO allies agreed to provide military aid to Ukraine in the amount of 40 billion euros ($43.05billion) next year. A Western European diplomat confirmed this to Reuters Wednesday, a week before leaders from the alliance are due to meet in Washington.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg asked that member states maintain military aid to Ukraine at the same levels as they were in the years following Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine, which was in 2022. This amounts to around 40 billion euros (43 billion dollars) per annum.

Next week, NATO leaders in Washington will sign the pledge.
