Biden knew China spy balloon was in US airspace for nearly a WEEK

Republican protest the Biden administration’s inability to communicate with the American public about the Chinese surveillance balloon hovering above the US for several days.

After it was seen over Montana, where one of three US nuclear missile silos is located, the Billings Gazette reported that the inflatable drone had been discovered.

Bloomberg’s subsequent report found that the president had been made aware of the balloon and its dangers days earlier, on January 28.

Officials were concerned that the balloon’s hysteria would disrupt Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping. They decided to keep the story secret.

The balloon was seen crossing North Carolina on Saturday when it was taken down. The US Territorial waters of the Atlantic Ocean were used to retrieve debris from the balloon that was flying at approximately 60,000 feet. It was about the same size as three school buses.

DailyMail.com’s Nicole Malliotakis, Republican Representative, stated that the surveillance balloon of communist China violates international law. It also threatens our country’s security. It is shocking that the Biden Administration saw this balloon flying above the Aleutian Islands days before and did not do anything about it.

She added that the president had not made any comment on this unacceptable act by the CCP.

“Whether it be our border or our airspace, Congress must act to protect it because it is clear that this President will not,” she said.

The House Judiciary GOP tweeted that Joe Biden knew about the Chinese spy balloon’s arrival. It was hidden from the American people. Let it fly through the ENTIRE COUNTRY.

The message continued: “And only after all of us begged him to do so, our great military took it down.” Embarrassing. Scary. Sad.’

Friday’s cancellation by Blinken of his trip to China was due to last-minute circumstances. The secretary referred to the incident as an “irresponsible act” and called it a clear violation of international law and sovereignty.

Blinken was due to leave Washington for Beijing on Friday night. He said that he had spoken to Wang Yi, a senior Chinese diplomat, about the fact that China had sent the balloon over the U.S. and that it was an irresponsible move. This is detrimental to substantive discussions that we were ready to have.

Officially, the Pentagon has called the balloon an ‘intelligence-gathering’ device.

Saturday’s cancellation was rescinded by the Chinese government.

“In reality, the U.S. has never announced any visit to China, and the U.S. making such an announcement is their business, and that we respect,” China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a Saturday morning statement.

China continues to assert that the balloon was simply a weather research ‘airship,’ which had been blown off its course.

That was rejected by the Pentagon, as well as China’s claim that it was not being used to spy and has limited navigational capabilities.

Biden told reporters Saturday morning that they would take care of the balloon when asked.

As the balloon reached the ocean, the Federal Aviation Administration and Coast Guard cleared the airspace and water beneath it.

Television footage showed the small explosion followed by the balloon’s descent toward the water. U.S. military aircraft were seen flying near the area, and ships were placed in the water to aid in the recovery operation.

Officials aimed to time the operation in a way that would allow them to recover as much debris as possible before it sinks into ocean. According to the Pentagon, any debris field would have to be large.

As it approached the coast, the balloon was seen over the Carolinas.

Preparing for the operation, FAA Administration temporarily closed airspace above the Carolina coast, including Charleston and Myrtle Beach (South Carolina) and Wilmington (North Carolina).

The FAA diverted air traffic from the area, and warned about delays due to the flight restrictions.

Coast Guard advised mariners that U.S. military operations “present a significant danger” and to leave immediately.

Biden was tempted to bring the balloon to land after being briefed about it Tuesday. However, Pentagon officials warned against this, stating that the risk to the people living on the ground was greater than the potential intelligence gains from China.

Reports of another balloon flying above Latin America were also confirmed by the Pentagon. Brig. In a statement, Gen. Pat Ryder (Pentagon press secretary) said.

The uncensored reactions to the Chinese internet mirror the official government position that the U.S. was exaggerating the situation.

It was used by some to make fun of the U.S. defenses. They claimed it couldn’t defend against a balloon. Nationalist influencers took to the news to ridicule the US.

China denied spying claims and claimed that the balloon was a civilian-use balloon for meteorology research.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the balloon’s voyage was beyond its control, and asked the U.S. to not’smear it’ based on the balloon.
