Tuberville: The Same Austin Who Went ‘AWOL’ Lectured Me About Hurting Military Readiness

In a Tuesday broadcast of Newsmax TV’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight,” Senator Tommy Tuberville, R-AL, responded to the hospitalization that Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin underwent that the White House wasn’t informed about by pointing out Secretary Austin’s own accusation that Tuberville had put military readiness at risk by blocking group voting on military promotions prior to Austin going “AWOL” and being hospitalized before he went through surgery without notifying President Joe Biden.

Tuberville stated, “It is outrageous that the leader of the largest army in history was hospitalized for one week and didn’t inform anyone.” What does that say to you? Joe Biden is not respected as the President of the United States. Someone was told I promise that, but not Biden, because he is the Rodney Dangerfield president, with no respect. This puts us at risk. We are thankful that our enemies did not take advantage. They spent months lecturing about the acting officials and these promotions that I had been holding back for abortion. They told me that Sen. Tuberville was holding back on military preparedness, and our Secretary of Defense is AWOL. Joe Biden is ultimately responsible for this. He should have fired him.”
