Authorities Nationwide Arrested More Than 200 Anti-Israel Campus Protesters on Saturday
The New York Times reported that authorities arrested more than 200 students on university campuses over the weekend. These included Washington University in St. Louis as well as Northeastern University and Arizona State University.
Massachusetts State Police detained about 100 protesters in Northeastern University and law enforcement released those who could confirm they were students. The school announced that student protesters would face “disciplinary procedures within the university and not legal action.” Those who refused to reveal their affiliations were arrested.
Northeastern University Police Department, in collaboration with local law enforcement agencies, began clearing an unauthorized encampment earlier this morning on the campus of the university in Boston. “What started as a demonstration of students two days ago was infiltrated with professional organizers who had no affiliation to Northeastern. Yesterday night, the use virulent antisemitic insults, such as ‘Kill The Jews’, crossed the line. “We cannot tolerate this type of hatred on our campus.”

Arizona State University’s school police arrested 70 people after a protestors organized an anti Israel encampment on Saturday.
The school stated that “while the university will remain an environment that embraces free speech, ASU’s first priority is creating a safe and secured environment that supports both teaching and learning.”
The police arrested 23 people at Indiana University Bloomington, following the arrest of 33 protesters Thursday. They were accused of “[erecting] many tents and canopies Friday night, with the stated intent to occupy the space on the campus indefinitely.”
Campus police at Washington University, St. Louis arrested 80 people, including Jill Stein, the progressive Green Party presidential candidate for 2024. Jason Call, Stein’s campaign manager, told Fox News: “The Stein campaign supports students’ demands and their peaceful demonstration and assembly on campus.” The best part of the collective moral conscience has always been student protests for civil liberties and peace. Solidarity.”
Universities in the United States are trying to find ways to deal with — or ignore — this week’s surge of anti-Israel protests on college campuses. After pro-Palestinian demonstrators criticized the University of Southern California’s decision to ban anti-Israel valedictorian Asna tabassum’s graduation speech, the university announced that the campus-wide commencement for the class of 2024 would be cancelled. Protests and encampments are also active or have been established at Columbia University and Cal Poly Humboldt.
