Democrat Eugene Vindman, known as key Trump whistleblower, wins Virginia’s 7th District

In a tight race, it took nearly a full day to decide the winner.

The Associated Press declared the race in favor of Vindman on Wednesday at 6:24 p.m. EST with 98% votes counted. Vindman was ahead of Anderson by 51.1%, with 48.9%.

Vindman is a retired lieutenant colonel and his brother Alexander Vindman were the whistleblowers that led to Donald Trump’s initial impeachment.

Abigail Spanberger, a Virginia Democrat who held the vacant seat since 2019, decided not to seek re-election. Instead, she will run for governor of Virginia in 2025.

Democrats are going to flood red districts with cash to flip them in 2026 like you saw them try in Tuesday’s election. Are you willing to live through more witch hunts? Are you willing to let President Trump get impeached again? We can’t be caught flat-footed again. Help us Protect American Values before you end up living in a socialist nation! Join the fight early!

Vindman’s popularity likely contributed to the Democrat’s victory.

Vindman’s victory is a relief for Democrats, who are still holding out a very slim hope that they can regain the majority in the House.
