Democrat Eugene Vindman, known as key Trump whistleblower, wins Virginia’s 7th District

In a tight race, it took nearly a full day to decide the winner.

The Associated Press declared the race in favor of Vindman on Wednesday at 6:24 p.m. EST with 98% votes counted. Vindman was ahead of Anderson by 51.1%, with 48.9%.

Vindman is a retired lieutenant colonel and his brother Alexander Vindman were the whistleblowers that led to Donald Trump’s initial impeachment.

Abigail Spanberger, a Virginia Democrat who held the vacant seat since 2019, decided not to seek re-election. Instead, she will run for governor of Virginia in 2025.

Rabbi Menken here. America has abandoned its moral center. In fact, 83% of Americans agree that we’re in a moral decline. Our nation has replaced Biblical Values with the false idol of humanism and moral relativism, but we’re not staying silent and neither should you. Will you join the Coalition for Jewish Values and support our nationwide efforts to restore the Biblical foundations of America?

Vindman’s popularity likely contributed to the Democrat’s victory.

Vindman’s victory is a relief for Democrats, who are still holding out a very slim hope that they can regain the majority in the House.
