Johnson proposes fines over ‘rogue buses’ transporting migrants to Chicago
According to reports, the administration of Mayor Brandon Johnson has begun suing over “rogue buses”, which it described as transporting migrants into Chicago.
According to the Chicago Tribune, 55 lawsuits were filed after new rules were introduced last month that regulate when and where buses may arrive.
The Mayor’s Office is now looking to be able to impounded buses that do not follow the rules, and fine their owners up to $3,000
The ordinance will be discussed next week at the city council meeting.
