NYC forces all city employees to undergo radical critical race theory training: ‘Really unfair’

According to Fox News Digital, Eric Adams’ New York City required all employees to undergo radical critical race theory-inspired training.

All New York City employees were sent the “mandatory” training with a March 6 deadline. The email stated that the training provided all NYC employees with a framework for understanding… the importance of workplace racial equity.

Critical race theory is a controversial lens that is used in the training. It holds that America was and has always been structurally racist. CRT also states that the U.S. was created from the beginning to oppress minorities in order to maintain systems of power for White racial groups or dominant cultures. CRT maintains a oppressor-versus-oppressed lens of society, and classes people into groups based upon “privilege.”

Fox News Digital was informed by a source familiar with “racial equality” training that “where they were discussing equity how we have to view people through a certain lens, that contradicted… [the idea] that] we should treat everyone equally.”

“I don’t agree with their demands for city employees. I believe they want contracts with the city and hiring from the city to be viewed through this lens. This is what I consider unfair. It is against their stated claims ]…, that everyone should be treated equally.

Training claimed that there was no scientific basis for race and that it was created to create an “exclusionary and oppressive” system.

“Race does not have a scientific or genetic basis. It is a social construct that classifies people based on their skin color and other physical characteristics.” “Despite all this, race still has an impact on the lives of people. Because our society has used racism to justify and establish systems of power, privilege and exclusion, and oppression.”

Training said that there were two types of racism other than individual racism.

It stated that institutional racism is the use of policies, practices and patterns within public and private institutions to impose oppressive or other negative conditions on identifiable groups based on race or ethnicity. “Structural racism/Systematic Racism: Racism that is spread across multiple institutions and integrated into politics, culture, and other aspects. A system that has a negative impact on communities of color in comparison to White communities.

It stated that all New York City workplaces must maintain an “equity perspective” by implementing antiracism training in their workforces, creating safe spaces where race can be discussed regularly, and addressing “unconscious bias” that may be causing a hostile work environment.

“To foster equity. Accept the possibility that there may be a problem. The training advised that you become aware of racism in the workplace and any potential racial inequities. “Understand dominant cultural patterns in your workplace to determine if they are hindering or helping you reach your diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.”

The training continued with “Be Conscious.” Unconscious Bias. Implicit bias is when our brains quickly make judgments about people and situations, without us realizing or being aware. These biases are common and often unintentionally acquired by employees.

Fox News Digital reached New York City to request comment, but did not receive an immediate response.
