Ohio moms react to ‘vicious’ school reporting them to FBI after exposing critical race theory: complaint

A complaint alleges that an Ohio school launched a bullying program against two mothers, accusing them as “threats”, after they revealed left-wing bias at the school.

According to the complaint, filed on June 12, Amy Gonzalez and Andrea Gross claimed that Columbus Academy refused to re-enroll their children when they began asking questions about the curriculum of the school and its fiduciary compliance. The moms claimed that the school administration reacted “overly” to their requests for transparency.

“And when I say overreaction, what I mean is an overreaction to call the police and alert almost 900 members of the faculty that they had informed the FBI that we are dangerous. It was just things so out of the ordinary that one would have to wonder why. Gross asked, “Why is the reaction extreme?”

Gross said that the alleged retaliation campaigns caused the community turn against her and family. Gross’ daughter had to leave the state because of the tension.

The complaint stated that “According to information and belief, Academy’s vicious treatment towards the Parent Plaintiffs and their children (including improperly invoking government investigative agencies, spreading false information, and engaging a coordinated effort in the community to destroy their reputations) was retaliation in order to prevent further inquiries into financial wrongdoing by the Academy.”

In a Fox News Digital statement, the school categorically denounced all allegations, saying that “these allegations are completely without any legal merit, or factual foundation whatsoever.”

The complaint was filed at the Court of Common Pleas of Franklin County, seeking compensation for damages. It also detailed the school climate, which allegedly was hostile to conservative students.

Fox News Digital reported that some of the instruction included critical theories about race and the moms believed it to be “indoctrination”.

The complaint stated that “one teacher told students on the first day in class that he wouldn’t communicate with anyone who supports President Trump.” “Politically charged topics were taught and discussed regularly in the classroom, without any opposing views being presented.”

In the complaint, it was also stated that Latinos were not included as much as other minorities. Gonzalez’s Latina daughter is Gonzalez.

The moms responded to this concern by releasing a public statement expressing their concern, namely, that some students had been subjected “to intimidation and bullying…based on their politics.”

The complaint stated that “the Academy’s Head of Security…filed a false police reporting against the Parent Plaintiffs at the Gahanna Police Department.”

According to the complaint, the school then notified faculty that Gonzalez and Gross had been reported to the FBI. Gonzalez thought it was “predatory harassment.”

“I think that when they weaponize federal agencies to intimidate us or to spread fear among the faculty they never informed the whole community, including parents, that they had notified the FBI. They told the teachers. You know, the teachers left that meeting wondering, “Are we to be scared or what does this all mean?” Gonzalez said.

“During the Academy faculty meeting, when the FBI was alerted to the situation, one member of the Academy raised their hand and asked whether the Child Plaintiffs were treated differently. The complaint stated that another member of the faculty said, “it sounds like we’ve got a mole.”

The Academy’s actions and those of its affiliated companies, which were directed by it, had a severe impact on Plaintiffs. The Academy falsely accused Parent Plaintiffs as being dangerous to the Health and Wellbeing of the Academy Community and destroyed their reputation with many people with whom they had spent years learning and working with,” continued the complaint.

Fox News Digital was also pointed to by Columbus Academy in an earlier statement.

“[A]ny parents who engaged in a public campaign that included false and misleading statements, and inflammatory comments, which were harmful to employees, reputation or financial stability at Columbus Academy, would be in violation of the Enrollment agreement and denied re-enrollment the following school year.”
