‘California’s most insane bill?’ Dem seeks to provide ‘free’ legal assistance to violent felons in US illegally

The introduction of California’s “most insane bill ever” – a bill which would give illegal aliens who have committed violent crimes a benefit – prompted the question, “Is this California’s most absurd bill yet?”

In the age of omnibus expenditure packages, taxpayers were routinely fleeced for costs that went beyond the scope of government. A Golden State legislator is now trying to expand a grant so that foreigners convicted of a crime could receive legal services from Californians.

Assembly Bill 2031, introduced by Assemblyman Reggie Jones Sawyer, a member of the state’s reparations taskforce and a vocal advocate, aims to amend the One California Immigration Services Funding Program, which was first introduced in 2015.

End Wokeness stated, “The bill seeks legal assistance for illegals who have been convicted of serious and violent crimes, including helping them to avoid deportation. The taxpayer will pay for these services.”

The highlighted section of the bill stated, “Existing laws prohibit the use of grant funds to provide services to individuals who have been convicted or are currently appealing convictions for violent or serious felonies.” This bill would remove the prohibition against using funds to help those individuals, prompting the question “California’s most insane law yet?”

Jones-Sawyer’s bill is being introduced as more taxpayer-funded nongovernmental organizations (NGOs), which are facilitating the border crisis, come to light. Fox News’ Rachel Campos Duffy, for example, drew the attention of Fox News to a building located in Tucson, Arizona, where illegal immigrants were being housed by Catholic Charities. Workers refused to answer any questions and threw “rocks” at her vehicle, she said.

According to other reports, NGOs are giving out debit cards loaded with hundreds of dollars for illegal immigrants to use as they please.

The assemblyman has also introduced numerous racially-motivated bills, including one last year which sought to require judges to consider the race when imposing sentences on criminals who had been convicted. This bill would specify the intention of the Legislature in rectifying racial discrimination. The bill would require that courts, when they have discretion in determining a sentence to be imposed, consider the disparate effect on historically disenfranchised or system-impacted groups.

Jones-Sawyer’s Republican colleague Assemblywoman Kate Sanchez attacked the Democratic legislators of their state, saying “BAD BILL – CA Dems are pushing for a bill that would allow illegal immigrants convicted violent felonies receive taxpayer-funded Legal Aid & avoid being deported! AB 2031 should be rejected. Why would they prioritize immigrant murderers and rapists over all others? ?”

She urged constituents to contact their representative about the bill heard Tuesday in committee. Others joined her to speak out on the latest attempt to harm law abiding citizens for the benefit of criminals.
