New Jersey Democrat Mayor Blasted for Saying Migrants ‘Not Welcome Here’

Democrats are turning against President Biden for his failed immigration policy as the border crisis of Joe Biden continues to negatively affect America. One Democrat mayor from New Jersey has come under fire for turning against Biden’s tidal waves of illegal border-crossers.

Sam Joshi, Democrat Mayor of Edison, New Jersey seems to be fed up with the growing migrant issue. He is receiving criticism, especially for saying that he wanted “to make it clear that we in Edison township are not welcoming them here.”

“They are illegal and belong on the otherside of the border.” We do not want them to be in Edison. According to the New Jersey Monitor, he stated that this was the bottom line. He said he would order his police officers to transport the migrants to the “other side of the border”.

Joshi responded to the criticism by telling Newsweek that he, as “son of immigrants,” “understands” this issue.

Joshi wrote in a note to the magazine that “Edison is home to a large number of immigrants and the overwhelming majority, especially the immigrant communities, supports my position. I am proud to represent them.”

The Democrat’s comments were prompted by a busload illegal aliens who had been dropped off in his town and then boarded a rail car to continue on their journey to New York City.

Joshi claims that the immigration problem is the responsibility of the federal government. He has no part or responsibility in it.

Joshi stated that “Edison lacks the financial or social services resources required” to deal with illegal immigrants who are homeless. We cannot afford to place them in long-term hotels or provide housing and educational services to overcrowded schools.

According to polls, Americans are becoming increasingly hostile towards the crisis created by Joe Biden.

According to a YouGov/CBS News survey conducted on Jan. 5, while Democrats continue to support the idea that illegal aliens be housed by local authorities at their expense, Republicans and independents are strongly opposed.

Only 23 percent of Republicans support this plan. Only 38 percent of independents agree with Democrats that local housing for illegal immigrants should be provided.

It is also interesting to note the racial breakdown. It is not surprising that 60 percent of whites oppose the idea of housing illegal immigrants in localities. However, only 50 percent of blacks and 47 percent of Hispanics are in favor of it.
