New Mexico GOP says headquarters was targeted in “deliberate act of arson”

Republican Headquarters in Albuquerque Targeted in Arson Attack

The Republican Party of New Mexico has reported a severe incident of arson at its Albuquerque headquarters, describing the event as a “deliberate act of arson.” The attack occurred early Sunday morning, resulting in significant damage to the entrance of the building. In a disturbing display of vandalism, the phrase “ICE=KKK” was also found spray-painted at the scene, which the party has condemned as a “horrific attack, fueled by hatred and intolerance.”

Response from Party Officials

Amy Barela, the chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, confirmed that fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. She emphasized the party’s resolve in a statement, asserting that the severity of this attack will not be undermined by New Mexico’s flawed criminal justice system. “The Republican Party of New Mexico will not be silenced,” Barela declared, expressing a strong determination to overcome this challenge. “We will emerge from this stronger, more united, and more determined to fight for the people of New Mexico and the future of our country.”

Ongoing Investigation

The investigation into the arson is being led by the FBI along with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as stated by Albuquerque police. The Republican Party is cooperating closely with both local and federal law enforcement to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
