Gallup Poll: Biden Worst President in Polling History
New polling data confirms that Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president, has called Joe Biden “the worst president in history.”
According to the latest Gallup poll results, released this weekend. Biden is the least popular president over the past 70 years, surpassing the previous lowest-rated presidency of Jimmy Carter. Bush and Richard Nixon.
Jeffrey Jones, a Gallup analyst, wrote in Bottom Line that “Biden is in a worse position than previous incumbents with about six months left before Election Day. He faces a greater challenge than those who were reelected.”
The poll compared the average approval ratings of first-term presidents since 1956. Biden’s 38.7% was the lowest.

Jones continued, “From a historical perspective, Biden’s most recent quarter average ranks 277th of 314 presidential quarterly Gallup records going back to 1945.” This puts it at the bottom 12% for all presidential quarters.
The 13th-quarter averages of the first-term president’s approval ratings:
Biden 38.7%
George H.W. Bush 41.8% Bush 41.8%
Barack Obama 45.9%
Trump 46.8%
Carter 47.7%
George W. Bush 51%
Bill Clinton 53.0%
Nixon 53.7%
Ronald Reagan 54.5%
Dwight D. Eisenhower 73.2%
Gallup didn’t analyze data until the Eisenhower administration.
Only Obama, out of the four candidates who had a majority approval rating below 50%, won reelection to a second term.
According to the poll, only 2% of Republicans and 33% of independents are in favor of Biden’s job performance. This leaves him with the reliable Democrat votes for his re-election bid.
Gallup’s approval rate was based on a survey of 1,001 Americans conducted between April 1-22. The margin of error is plus or minus four percentage points.
