At tense Republican debate, Ramaswamy calls Haley ‘Dick Cheney in 3 inch heels’

Vivek Ramaswamy, an entrepreneur, launched a personal attack on Nikki Haley just minutes into the third discussion.

Ramaswamy made a comparison between Haley’s views on foreign policy and those of former Republican vice president Dick Cheney, as the two candidates discussed Israel’s conflict with Hamas. He did this before she could respond, as she had done in past debates.

He asked, “Do you want to have a leader who is from a new generation and will put the country first?” “Or would you prefer Dick Cheney wearing three-inch heels?”

Haley later told him that she wears heels “five inches” and added, “And you don’t run in them unless they are comfortable.”

Haley stated, “I don’t wear heels as a fashion statement. They’re ammunition.”

Ramaswamy suggested during the exchange the insult was also directed towards Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis denied wearing lifts in an interview last month.

The comparison was made to Cheney as part of a criticism of rival candidates more hawkish foreign policies. Haley has been a strong supporter of Ukraine’s war against Russia. DeSantis, on the other hand, said that he would send the U.S. Military to the southern border to authorize the use of lethal force by troops against drug traffickers.
