CDC pushes school officials to embrace LGBT curriculum

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention encourages school administrators, teachers, and nurses to embrace the LGBT movement and include related curricula when educating students.

The federal agency posted a document on its youth website entitled “LGBTQ Inclusion in Schools: A Self Assessment Tool.” It includes dropdown menus that provide resources for “professional growth,” tools for supporting LGBT youth, and “health considerations” for LGBT youth.

Each page contains a list of documents as well as guidance that pertain to pro-LGBT materials. The top section of the page encourages school officials to develop their professional skills. It states that materials should include “appropriate language” regarding the “concepts and characteristics of sexual orientation and gender identification.”

It also suggests that information be included on the “health risks” of young LGBT people, the school’s impact on them, and the “unique needs” of transgender students.

Graphics such as the “gender Unicorn” were included in other documents, which the Daily Signal highlighted. The graphic featured an image of a mythological purple creature dressed in LGBT icons. It also included explanations about gender identity and physical/emotional attraction.

In a tweet late December, the federal agency’s Division of Adolescent and School Health highlighted its materials by saying that “[o]ur LGBTQ inclusion self-assessment instrument can help you quickly gauge inclusivity in your school.”
