Chinese illegal immigration on pace to break records at US southern border

The southern border is set to see a dramatic increase in illegal Chinese immigration. In just a few short days, apprehensions of Chinese immigrants from one sector have already exceeded fiscal 2021.

Fox News reports that U.S. Customs and Border Protection sources say between Saturday and Sunday, Border Patrol apprehended 452 Chinese nationals in the San Diego Sector.

This is more than 450 people apprehended across the entire Southwest border in fiscal year 2021.

Since fiscal 2021, the number of Chinese citizens has increased. In fiscal 2022 the number of Chinese nationals increased to over 2,000 across the border. This number then grew to over 24,314.

By the end of the first month of fiscal 2024 (which began in October), there had been over 18,750 encounters. This means that the fiscal year has already exceeded last year’s figures. In December, there were almost 6,000 encounters.

The global nature of the border crisis in the United States is evident by the increase in migration from China. Officials have previously stated that they have encountered migrants in more than 150 different countries. Fox News saw migrants this week from Brazil, Kazakhstan Kyrgyzstan Ecuador, China, and Kazakhstan crossing the border into the U.S.

Chinese nationals are the fastest growing demographic of illegal immigrants. Republicans and some officials have expressed concern that the entry of single adults from a geopolitical competitor could be a threat to national security.

Brandon Judd is the president of National Border Patrol Council which represents all Border Patrol agents in the United States. He told Fox News that last week, most of the Chinese border-crossers were single males who are of military age.

“That’s a scary prospect.” “We know that China doesn’t like us. We know we are in China’s crosshairs,” Judd said.

You should be very concerned about this.

Last year, a group Republican senators warned that “there have been many documented cases of Chinese nationals acting under the CCP’s direction to engage in espionage and steal military and economic secrets.”

The Republican-controlled House impeached DHS secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of migrant crisis. The Senate will now hear the articles of impeachment.

In total, more than 961,000 migrants have been encountered this fiscal year. This is up from a record-breaking 2.4 million encounters in fiscal 2023. In December, there were 301,000 encounters. This was followed by a dramatic drop to 176,000 in the following month.
