Sen. Tim Scott launched his presidential exploratory committee for 2024

Wednesday’s announcement by Sen. Tim Scott was that he will be establishing a presidential exploratory commission for the 2024 election. Scott will face a growing number of popular candidates, all looking to win the GOP nomination in the primaries.

“I will not back down in defense the conservative values that make America unique. Scott stated in a video that he was announcing his exploratory committee to be the next president of the United States.

Scott noted in the video that the date of his announcement coincides perfectly with the start of the Civil War, when Confederate troops fired their first shots in South Carolina’s Charleston Harbor.

He stated, “Today, our nation is once more being tested. Once again, our divisions run deep, and the threat to us future is real.” “Joe Biden, and the radical left, have chosen a culture that values grievance over greatness.”

Tim Scott and his faith

Scott is currently on the middle of his “Faith in America” listening tour. It began in South Carolina during Black History Month in Feb. Next on the agenda are New Hampshire and Iowa, both early Republican primary states.

Senator from South Carolina has highlighted the importance of faith through his own personal story, his announcement video, and his interview with Fox News.

He said, “When you are a single parent, and you’re struggling to make ends meet, and you see your mother working 16-hour days, it makes you wonder if this is the right path for you.”

He said, “I want to share that message. I want to spread the gospel truth that faith is America, faith with each other, faith and God, and faith for our future.”

Scott has been a believer since the beginning of his political career. He proposed in 1997 that the Ten Commandments should be displayed in Charleston’s chambers as a reminder to residents of the moral absolutes.

What is Tim Scott’s performance against other GOP candidates in 2024?

Scott served as a South Carolina state senator for one term, and was a U.S. House Representative for two terms. Scott was then appointed by Nikki Haley to the Senate. Scott is a former governor of South Carolina who is also running for President in 2024.

Scott is the first and only Black U.S. senator from South Carolina. He had declined to endorse Haley’s campaign in February. This led to speculation about his intentions to run according to The Post and Courier.

Open Secrets reports that Scott, who was reelected to the Senate, closed his campaign account worth more than $21 million. According to The New York Times, Scott will benefit from this large sum in the presidential election. However, he is still competing for the same donors in the south state where they are both based.

Winthrop’s poll showed that 41% of South Carolina’s registered Republican voters approve of Donald Trump, the former president who announced his 2024 campaign as the GOP candidate. Haley and Florida Governor. Ron DeSantis came in second with support of 20% and 18% respectively. Scott received 7% of the support.

Former Arkansas Gov. Vivek Ramaswamy and Asa Hutchinson, a former Arkansas governor, have also announced their candidacies for the presidency in 2024. Others possible candidates include Mike Pence, ex-Vice President, and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Chris Sununu is the Virginia Governor. Glenn Youngkin, former Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney.

What are Tim Scott’s policy stances on this?

After being selected to deliver the Republican rebuttal of President Joe Biden’s first State of the Union address, the senator was in the national spotlight in 2021.

According to USA Today, Scott stated that he was clear in his speech. He said, “America isn’t a racist nation.” It’s also worth noting that he supported the removal from South Carolina of the Confederate battle banner in 2015.

Scott has voted for anti-abortion legislation like the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This law requires lifesaving medical care to be provided to babies who survive an abortion.

He supports school choice as well: “From rural poor to inner cities, test scores have fallen even lower than before COVID.” Scott stated that parents have the right to choose to send their child to the school that best suits their needs. He introduced the National School Choice Week Resolution in January.

Scott also supports increased military aid for Ukraine. He said that “If we want Ukraine to be helped, U.S leadership must not be reactive.” He also supported maintaining a military presence at Afghanistan.
