Rick Scott Predicts GOP Will Win at Least 52 Senate Seats in Midterms

Senator Rick Scott (R. Fla.), Chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee predicted Sunday that Republicans would win at least 52 Senate seats during the midterm elections.

Scott stated that “We’re going to get 52 plus,” during an appearance on CNN’s State of the Union. “Herschel will win in Georgia. We’ll keep all 21 of yours. [Mehmet] Oz will win against [John] Fetterman, Pennsylvania. Nevada will see Adam Laxalt win.

RealClearPolitics polling results show that Walker leads Senator Raphael Warnock 1.6 percentage points, Fetterman leads Oz by 0.3 points, and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto is leading Laxalt by 1.2 percentage points.

Scott suggested that Blake Masters, the Republican in Arizona, will also win. Masters leads Senator Mark Kelly by 1.5 percentage points according to a RealClearPolitics average poll.

He claimed that Don Bolduc would win an upset against Democratic Senator Maggie Hassan, in New Hampshire. Tiffany Smiley will also be victorious in Washington, and Joe O’Dea will prevail in Colorado. According to a RealClearPolitics polling, Bolduc leads Hassan by 3.4 percentage points. According to polling averages, Smiley trails Senator Patty Murray by 5 percentage points, while O’Dea is behind Senator Michael Bennet with 7.5 percentage points.

Scott stated to Bash, “This is our year. The Democrats can’t race on anything they have done.” People don’t like the things they’ve done. They don’t like high levels of inflation. They don’t like high food and gas prices. It is not what they like. An open border is not liked by the public. They don’t enjoy high levels of crime. That’s why the Democrats are so well-known.”

Although Republicans are expected to control the House, the fate of the evenly divided Senate may be less certain. FiveThirtyEight’s analysis suggests that Democrats have a 53 per cent chance of holding on to their Senate majority. Vice President Kamala Harris is a tiebreaking vote.

According to the Cook Political Report, Arizona, Georgia and Nevada are listed as “toss-ups” in Arizona, Georgia and Wisconsin. New Hampshire and North Carolina are “lean Democrat,” and Ohio and North Carolina are “lean Republican.”

Fox News’s power rankings show the Senate on a “knife’s edge”, while they predict that Republicans will have a 16-seat majority at the House. However, that prediction is subject to a margin error of plus/minus 17 seats.
