Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the Mexican President, used his microphone to criticize Donald Trump and other Republicans for their immigration policies during a surge of illegal border crossings.

Lopez Obrador thanked President Joe Biden for not building even a meter of wall between their countries during his opening remarks at the post summit press conference. Justin Trudeau, Canada’s Prime Minister, was also present.

According to translators, Lopez Obrador stated Tuesday that “we thank you for this, sir” in Mexico City. “Even though the conservatives don’t like it.”

Lopez Obrador has repeatedly spoken out to Biden before reporters during the two day summit. He encouraged his counterpart to “regularize the migration situation of millions of Mexicans” living and working in the United States, and to “contribute to the development of this great nation.”

Lopez Obrador, who responded to one reporter’s question for nearly 24 minutes, gave a longer response than any of the others. Greg Abbott (R.TX) is known for flying and busing immigrants across the country.

He said, “This is totally inhuman.” This should never be done.

Lopez Obrador, who turned down last year’s Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles hosted by Biden, previously pleaded with the president to “doaway with this abandonment and this disdain and this forgetfulness about Latin America and the Caribbean,” seeking additional aid.

Before their Monday bilateral meeting, he stated that President Biden held the key to opening and substantially improving the relations among all the American continent countries.
