IDF says Gaza border finally sealed, bodies of 1,500 terrorists found inside Israel

Israel Defense Forces announced Tuesday that it had finally regained its control over the suddenly porous border between the Gaza Strip and Israel. This was 72 hours after Hamas terrorists tore through sections of the fence, launching an invasion in which over 1,000 Israelis were killed or kidnapped.

Air force planes bombed large swaths in the Strip as Israel grappled with the growing magnitude of Saturday’s mass murders. The military also notified the families of hostages that their loved ones are being held there. As 300,000 reservists prepared for a potential ground invasion, searches to find terrorists believed to be hiding in Israel continued, and tensions along the northern border threatened a second front.

The IDF claimed that it had sealed the border by mining areas near breaches to prevent further incursions.

According to reports, the death toll from Israel’s surprise attack and battles that followed has risen to over 900. Over 500 people remain hospitalized with many suffering life-threatening injuries. Since Saturday, over 2,700 people have been injured.
