Russia Now Has a Second Frontline Set Up Just to Kill Its Deserters: Intel

Russian President Vladimir Putin provoked the fury of his people by drafting hundreds upon thousands of Ukrainian soldiers to fight in the war against Ukraine. Now it appears that some of those men were not sent to fight the “enemy”, but to “snuffout” any Russian troops who dare retreat.

On Thursday, Ukrainian intelligence released an audio recording which appears to capture the chaos and internal rifts among Russian troops on the battlefield. The five-minute clip is described as an intercepted telephone conversation between a Russian soldier’s wife and a soldier. He says that he and the other soldiers in his unit are at a safe distance from the actual fighting.

He said, “They moved us back the second line, there is shooting somewhere ahead, but we’re here for now in our trenches,” before boasting that he was lucky to have found a Rosneft jacket, which was warm but covered in blood.

“They brought inmates here…from prison. They led them to the front. We’re here to block retreat, fuck. We snuff out anyone who runs away.

His wife said, “What a nightmare!”

“This is how it’s set up. We are on the second line and guard the first. There’s another line behind us. You won’t succeed if you follow that path. It’s impossible to escape. They are able to shoot on their own.”

He said, “If someone goes [that route], you must wipe him out.”

Both the wife and the purported soldier suggested that they tried to complain about the conditions by appealing to an unspecified “committee”, but the man seemed to be convinced that any outcry would fail. He noted that Russian defense officials cleverly classified him and the other men in his unit “in training” instead of on the battlefield.

It wasn’t clear exactly where the soldier was located. There have been numerous reports that Russian commanders threatened to execute their own soldiers if they tried to end the war. According to Sota, a Moscow resident was summoned under Putin’s draft last week. He claimed that Colonel General Alexander Lapin pulled out a gun and presented it to the head a commander who oversees drafted troops. The commander threatened to shoot the unit if they didn’t return to the frontline.

A volunteer fighting for Ukraine in the area spoke out to The Daily Beast under the condition that he was not identified. He said that he had discovered several Russian commanders dead from gunshot wounds, after top Russian military brass ordered them to shoot down any fleeing troops.

Russia has strengthened its forces with thousands of soldiers newly drafted and prisoners inmates recruited from the Wagner Group. However, this only seems to have increased the dysfunction within the ranks.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russian prisoners released from prison were reported to have “leave the units and attempt to return to Russian territory” following the receipt of their weapons. The inmates are lured by the promise of a pardon. However, Putin crony Yevgeny prighozin, who is behind the Wagner Group’s prisoner recruitment scheme, is reported to have told the Russian president privately that it was not a reprieve but death sentence. According to Yellow Folder, which is a Telegram channel, Yellow Folder was allegedly run by ex-members of Russia’s Federal Protective Services.

In occupied Donetsk Putin’s troops seem to be at work fighting each other. According to Ukrainian intelligence, a Russian soldier was identified as the man who called his mother to inform her that another soldier with reinforcements had been taken by Russian soldiers. He was then held hostage by Donetsk People’s Republic fighters.

He went to the city for moonshine. The commandants beat him and put him in a basement. They sent him photos to his… mother and wife. They tied him up and demanded money as though he was a prisoner.

“Good God! His mother inquired if they thought he was Ukrainian.

He said that they didn’t think of anything and added: “It’s fun here.”
