Montana shamed as residents vote ‘No’ on measure to protect babies after they’re born: ‘Unimaginable’

Twitter’s conservatives attacked Montanans who voted “No” to a Republican-backed referendum that would have guaranteed medical care for all babies born alive during pregnancy.

Montana voters had the opportunity to affirm or reject Legislative Referendum 131’s signing into law on election day. The Associated Press called it the race after receiving nearly all of the votes as of Thursday afternoon.

With 95% of the votes in, 52.4% Montana residents voted “No” to the referendum as opposed to 47.6% who did so.

If the residents had voted “Yes”, the referendum would have passed a law that would have guaranteed any infant born alive during pregnancy protections. It would also have criminal penalties for any health care worker who fails to provide adequate medical care.

House Bill 167 is the sponsor of this measure. It was sponsored by Matt Regier, a Republican state representative. Kaiser Health News reported Regier’s intent to create the bill and referendum “to prevent infants who survived abortions being denied medical treatment and left to die.”

Twitter users who support life were furious that Montana had voted against the referendum and accused the state’s residents to voting “to allow babies to die.”

Robby Starbuck, a conservative influencer and filmmaker, described the “No vote” in this way. He tweeted: “Montana voted for babies dying. Let this sink in. This would have forced doctors to care for a human being born alive, even if they were aborted. This is a terrible, dark day.

Marina Medvin, a conservative commentator and defense attorney, tweeted: “Police must provide medical care to homicidal psychopaths who shoot at them.” The society demands that serial killers convicted of murder be provided with food and medical care in prison. Montana claims that innocent babies shouldn’t be allowed to receive milk or medical treatment. This is absurd.

Pro-life user Eudaimonia tweeted: “Colorado moved for legalization of shrooms, Montana says that babies who are born prematurely don’t qualify as legal persons. But tell me more about this slippery slope ‘fallacy’.”

March for Life’s Twitter account lamented the vote and tweeted, “Abortion is so hurting our nation that we refuse to provide proper medical care for newborn babies.”

James Woods, actor and conservative, wrote: “For a country to vote against compassionate treatment for an infant born alive it is unimaginable. Expected MAYBE from the usual moral hellholes such NY and CA but Montana?! The Left’s war against the unborn is legendary. They are now making grooming a part of their jihad but outright murder?

Conservative journalist Ian Miles Cheong stated it bluntly in tweeting: “It’s now legally to kill babies at Montana.” America is so f —.”

Abby Johnson, a pro-life activist, was upset by the election results and tweeted, “I’m horrified even ONE person would vote to deny babies healthcare in Montana after they’ve been born.” These people are basically saying that they want the baby to die. Our nation needs Jesus. Desperately.”

Cabot Phillips, senior editor at Daily Wire, commented that Montana has voted to allow babies to die on operating tables if they are not killed by an abortion attempt. We are guilty of our wickedness and deserve to be punished.”
