Anti-Israel Protesters in S.F. Delayed Organs from Reaching Transplant Patients

Anti-Israel protesters, who blocked the San Francisco Bay Bridge in November 2016, also caused several ambulances to delay delivering vital organs for transplant patients. This was revealed by a court on Monday during the first trial.

As Breitbart News reported last month:

Pro-Palestinian protesters shut down bridges at rush hour in Boston and San Francisco on Thursday morning. They demanded a ceasefire for the Gaza Strip, as the Israel Defense Forces ramped up their military campaign against Hamas after the terror group’s unprecedented attack on Israel.

The protest was illegal and took place when President Joe Biden visited during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Monday:

EmilyRose Johns said that seventeen defendants made their first court appearance, but they did not enter a plea because they wanted time to consult their attorneys. Johns stated that each defendant faces five misdemeanors. Dozens more protesters are expected to be charged throughout the week.

According to UCSF Hospitals, in addition to snarling traffic on the bridge for hours, protests also delayed the transfer of three organs to patients awaiting transplants.

The recipient of the organs can die if they are not received within a few minutes.

The Chronicle described the protest as peaceful, noting that the Arab Resource and Organizing Center, which was involved in many radical protests throughout the Bay Area including those in schools, had brought hundreds of demonstrators to the courthouse to show their support inside the courtrooms, where 80 arrestees would face misdemeanors charges.
