Black Lives Matter Group Throws Support Behind Hamas Attacks, Calls Murder of Israelis ‘Self-Defense’

Black Lives Matter Grassroots threw their support behind Hamas on Monday night, calling the terrorists’ indiscriminate killing of Israeli citizens at the weekend a desperate self-defense.

The group that represents 26 local Black Lives Matters Chapters across the United States said they had no other choice than to “stand unwaveringly by the oppressed”, and support “Palestine,” after Hamas terrorists infiltrated Israel, killing more than 1,000 Israelis, 11 Americans, and injuring tens of thousands.

BLM Grassroots stated that “Black people are continuing the fight against militarism and mass incarceration within our communities. Let us see the resistance in Palestine in Palestine as a bid to knock down the doors of the largest open-air prison in the world.” As a radical Black group rooted in abolitionist principles, we see many parallels between Blacks and Palestinians.

BLM Grassroots echoed the statements of “Squad’ members Rep. Rashida Tlaib, (D. Mich.), and Rep. Cori bush (D. Mo.). BLM Grassroots echoed the statements of “Squad” members Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) and Rep. Cori Bush (D., Mo.).

BLM Grassroots stated that “for lasting peace to arrive, the entire Apartheid System must be demolished.” The war against the Palestinians must end. “We call on the United States Government to stop funding war immediately and redirect $4 billion of annual spending towards repairing the damage caused by U.S. supported wars, military strikes, coups and destabilizing intervention against oppressed persons around the world.”

BLM is no stranger to using violence in order to achieve their goals. The most destructive riots ever in U.S. History were caused by its activists after the police murder of George Floyd. The riots cost upwards of $ 2 billion in damage and killed at least 25 Americans.

During the riots of 2020, BLM Grassroots had close ties to Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (the national BLM group). BLM Grassroots, however, severed ties with Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation in 2022 to protest its cofounder Patrisse cullors’s financial squandering. Under Cullors’s leadership, the national BLM group spent $12 million on luxurious homes in Los Angeles, Toronto, and her friends and relatives with multimillion dollar contracts.

BLM Grassroots filed a lawsuit against the national BLM Group in September 2022. They claimed that the charity had siphoned off more than $10,000,000 to enrich Shalomyah bowers, the board secretary of the BLM group. In June, a California judge dismissed the case.
