Tom Cotton claims Biden has placed ‘more pressure’ on Israel than Hamas

Tom Cotton, R-AR, said that it “seems” President Joe Biden put “more pressure”, on the Israeli government, than he did on the Hamas terrorist organization.

Cotton said that Biden had pushed the Jewish state into taking actions that were “clearly against Israel’s interests.”

Cotton stated on Fox News Sunday that President Biden seems to put more pressure on Israel, than on Hamas or its Qatari hosts. “We reached this point where we needed to take a four-day pause because the Biden administration consistently, behind the scene, has insisted on Israel’s government taking steps that clearly are not in Israel’s interests.” Fuel, for example, is a much better option than water, food or medicine.

The Arkansas senator said that Hamas seems to have such contempt for Biden, that they feel it’s more important to free “Filipino hostages and Thai hostages” than hostages in the United States. Cotton called this “one small instance of the weakness that the president has shown in his leadership.”

Cotton’s concern about Hamas and their hostages comes after the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) announced Sunday that 17 additional hostages had been released by the terrorist group. This marks the third consecutive day that the IDF has released hostages in accordance with the temporary ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Abigail Edan was an American-Israeli four-year-old girl who was released as a hostage on Sunday. She was the only American released.

Congress, in addition to helping Israel fight Hamas and Russia, is looking at ways to aid Ukraine. Republican lawmakers are also seeking financial assistance for the U.S. southern border.

Cotton is among several Republican Senators who released an immigration proposal earlier this week. The plan would limit the ability of immigrants to enter the U.S. or to stay there once they have been apprehended, and require the President to restart the border wall construction.
